Sit outside Dubray's Books in Galway, Ireland, just before midnight, eating takeaway fish and chips, watching someone juggle fire, and listening to a band on the corner. We danced, too.
I don't know about Easons, one block down, but Dubray's did a great job dealing with the HP rush. They patrolled the queue, checked you off if you were a pre-reserve, gave you an entrance ticket, walked up and down the queue all evening giving away candy and things to amuse yourself with, then moved things along once the doors opened, to get our copies of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in a timely manner.
