Wow

I won the Writers of the Future contest. Wow!

I know, I know! I just have to keep saying it...eventually I'll believe it. ('Round about the time I get the prize check, no doubt. *Ahem*) I went back and read my entry this weekend, and you know what? It is a good story.

And as if my week could not get any better, I fiddled with a couple new poems -- and I haven't written poetry in ages -- and I'm pretty pleased with them, and then did some conceptual stuff for a potential novel, and, AND, AAAAAND

Got some of the all-time best feedback I've ever gotten from someone who read a poem of mine *seven years ago* and still remembers it, and me, and says it touched their lives at a time when they really needed it.

Do you mind if I actually exclaim in surprise?

Holy jabberwocky, Batman!
